Our Journey
From a steel fabrication shop that developed into a specialty of aboveground (AST) and underground (UST) storage tanks, Lannon Tank continues to grow and evolve in ways we never could have imagined.
How it Started
Lannon Tank traces its original beginnings to the formation of a steel fabricating shop, C & R Welding, which serviced several area quarries in the Village of Lannon in 1954. The business prospered and in 1968, one partner and two salesmen formed Lannon Corporation, which bought a line of underground storage tanks from Logemann, Inc. of Milwaukee. In 1970, the main building was constructed, and the first tanks began being built.
Ownership History
Lannon Corporation continued to add new tank technologies to adapt to more stringent government regulations. However, fortune did not always smile on Lannon. Two salesmen passed away in a one-year period during the mid-eighties, which put the business up for sale. Three years later, Lannon Tank Corporation was formed and proceeded to buy out the Lannon Corporation, and on August 1st, 1989, Lannon Tank Corporation began operations under the new ownership of Kenneth Stowell.
Continued Expansion
This management team consisted of experienced manufacturing and engineering professionals who would grow the business during the re-tanking of the State of Wisconsin during the 1990’s. This growth enabled Lannon Tank to bring on additional new products in the underground storage tank market, this new product, the Plasteel Elutron® continues to be a market-leading technology produced here in Lannon, WI.
In 2014, owner Kenneth Stowell was ready to move to his next chapter, retirement. This desire brought in the new ownership and the company changed to Lannon Tank Company and continues to grow while becoming a nationally recognized leader of AST and UST tank technologies.
